This years draft is projected to be much better than last year’s draft.

The projected #1 pick is Cade Cunningham, the most talented player in years, followed by Jalen Green, Evan Mobley, Jalen Suggs, and finally Jonathan Kuminga. They are projected to all go in the top 10 picks.

However, there is no doubt that everyone believes the number one pick will be Cade Cunningham. To give some background on Cade Cunningham I interviewed his coach & cousin Ashton Bennings. Ashton gave some information on how Cade is preparing for the draft and how his draft week will look like. He also touches on who Cade is as a person and finally what his day-to-day is like. 

RVC Valley Forge: Where do do you believe Cade will be drafted ?
Ashton: He’ll be the #1 pick.

RVC Valley Forge: Will his family move with him to whatever city he is drafted by?
Ashton: His family will be back and forth.

RVC Valley Forge: What are Cades goals?
Ashton: They are Rookie of The Year, help his team to the playoffs, and finally help is coach will coach of the year.

RVC Valley Forge: How many times a week do you and cade workout?
Ashton: Every day other than Sunday. For an hour and 15 minutes Cade lift weights with his older brother and does Yoga with a other person.

RVC Valley Forge: How do you think Cade’s journey has been?
Ashton: His whole journey starts with God at the end of the day. Stay true to the grind and be blessed to be in the draft.

RVC Valley Forge: What has Cade worked on for the draft?
Ashton: He lost weight, worked on ball handling and finishing, and is more cut up in his best weight.

RVC Valley Forge: Is Cade nervous or excited for the draft?
Ashton: Cade is Extremely excited.

RVC Valley Forge: How does Cade handle the day-to-day?
Ashton: Well, every day he wakes up to go to the gym or yoga or go to the weight room and sometimes does interviews. Later on in the day workout starts again and he may do some endorsements.

RVC Valley Forge: How will Cades draft week will look like ?
Ashton: He’s going to Brooklyn New York on Monday and then workout until the draft starts. He’ll come suited with 15 family members and also his daughter to attend the draft events and have some joy in the moment.

RVC Valley Forge: How do you think his college year went ?
Ashton: College went very well. It helped him become a man, got a lot of awards, and his college coach Mike Boynton helped him a lot.

RVC Valley Forge: Finally, how long have you known Cade?
Ashton: 19 long years. I’ve worked out with him since his fith grade year.

After I interviewed Ashton Bennings the draft started on Thursday, July 29th 7:00pm. Then top 10 picks where:
1. Detroit Pistons: Cade Cunningham – point guard
2.Houstan Rockets: Jalen Green – guard
3. Cleveland Cavaliers: Evan Mobley – center
4. Toronto Raptors: Scottie Barnes – small forward
5, Orlando Magic: Jalen Suggs – guard
6,Oklahoma City: Josh Giddey – guard
7.Golden State Warriors: Jonathan Kuminga – forward
8. Orlando Magic: Franz Wagner – forward
9. Sacramento Kings: Davion Mitchell – guard
10. New Orleans Pelicans picks goes to Memphis Grizzlies: Zaire Williams – forward

Mostly the top 3 picks went as I projected. Right after Cade Cunningham went #1, Jalen Green was at number 2 and the number 3 pick was Evan Mobley. Most of the rest of the top 10 where projected to be top 10 picks .

This year’s NBA draft was projected to be great with a lot of good humble talent. Hopefully as the seasons go on, this year’s draft class will be remembered one of the best.
